COMMON GDOWN ERRORSometimes, this error can show up:
- Uninstalling gdown by pip uninstall gdown, and then reinstalling with pip install gdown fixes this issue.
- If that doesn't fix the problem, there are some other potential ways to fix the issue: [1] [2] [3]
- Opening this link in the browser and downloading the file manually .../photoshop-22-linux/installation_files is also viable as a workaround.
1- Launch Photoshop and go to: Edit -> preferences -> tools, and uncheck "Show Tooltips" (You will not be able to use any plugins otherwise).
2-ONLY IF YOU INSTALLED VKD3D PROTON: Go to: Edit -> preferences -> Camera raw... -> performance and set "Use graphic processor" to "Off"
After you run the installer, open your application menu, and search for "Photoshop CC", and click on it. As simple as that!
NOTE: If you do not find the desktop entry, or if it doesn't work, then run thelauncher.sh file. This command should launch Photoshop for you, or it will at least tell you what the error is. (This command is also printed at the end of the installation)
Add a sum verification for large downloaded files (ps_components.tar.xz CameraRaw_12_2_1.exe)
Check wether Photoshop is installed before installing (does the "Ps-prefix" folder exist?)
Colour code the output Colour code the output of all scripts using a printMessage function
[ x ] Move all functions to a function script
Check that components are installed in the installer Improve dependencies checking
Sort out the "open with Photoshop" issue
Add ability to create multiple prefixes
- All credit goes to MiMillieuh for finding the components that make Photoshop run using wine.
- I only take credit for creating the installer itself, not for any testing or experimenting.
